You may also use the ESA number in order to query an existing application and follow its progress. Perhaps you have a query relating to an existing benefit you have and have a question about a payment or a query about how long you are eligible to receive the benefit for.

Sometimes, things do go wrong. If this is the case with your benefit then you will need to raise a complaint via the ESA number. The highly trained team will then investigate your complaint and provide you with an outcome as quickly as possible. Raising a complaint is very easy via the ESA number and is definitely the most convenient way to do it. Do not hesitate to call ESA if you have any concerns whatsoever relating to the receiving of the benefit or the application process. Call ESA immediately if you notice any incorrect payments with regard to the benefit as any mistakes will need to be quickly put right. There is excellent ESA support available to you and so you must make sure that you take advantage of it.

Other ways to get in touch

Although the ESA support available via the helpline is very good, there are many reasons why you may not wish to call the telephone helpline. Perhaps you are simply not willing to wait in a long telephone queue which is potentially very frustrating, or perhaps using the telephone is just not a practical option for you. Unfortunately, there is limited support outside of the helpline, but there is some.

Rather than contact the helpline direct, you can use the services of your local Job Centre Plus office. This can be a really good way to find out more about the benefit without having to call the helpline. Contact ESA via the Job Centre Plus does allow you to apply for the benefit in the Job Centre Plus office. You will be given an appointment with a Job Centre Plus advisor who will complete the application for you and then send your application off to the benefit team. Furthermore, you are then able to ask for the email address of the Job Centre Plus advisor that you are dealing with. You will be able to email them and ask for updates regarding your application for the benefit. This could be a more convenient method of applying for the benefit rather than contact ESA via the telephone number.

The benefit can therefore be applied for via the helpful telephone helpline or via local Job Centre plus services. Unfortunately there is currently not any other way that you can chase the progress of your application for the benefit or raise a complaint. However, the services that are available to you do work well and you will get answers to your query or complaint using the methods above.
